Mbappé passes Raúl with brace in El Clásico, taking his top-five league tally to 258 goals

Kylian Mbappé keeps setting records in a Real Madrid shirt. By scoring against Barcelona in El Clásico, he took his career goal tally in Europe's top five leagues to 258, passing Real legend Raúl González.
Real returned from Barcelona's ground with a 2-1 win in the tenth round of La Liga. Mbappé scored both of Real's goals in the first El Clásico of the season.
Real's first goal came in somewhat unexpected fashion. Barcelona's Gerard Martín failed to deal with a cross from Diomande on the left. The ball deflected off Mbappé, who turned it into the net with his foot. He scored his second goal in the 87th minute of the match.
The French statistics network Stats Foot said Mbappé's professional career tally in Europe's top five leagues is now 258. Raúl's tally was 256.
Mbappé's record against Barcelona is also rich. He has now scored 14 goals against the Catalan club in official matches. According to Stats Foot, Barcelona are second on the list of teams that have conceded the most goals to Mbappé. Montpellier top that list, having conceded 15 goals to him.
Mbappé has also made a superb start in El Clásico. According to statistician Mister Chip, he has scored eight goals in his first seven matches in the historic Real Madrid-Barcelona rivalry.
In more than 124 years of that rivalry, only three players had previously scored the same number in their first seven matches. Santiago Bernabéu did so in 1916, Samitier in 1932 and Pahiño in 1951. All of them reached that milestone more than 75 years ago.
Barcelona lost 2-1 to Real in the first El Clásico of the season. But the Catalan club did receive welcome news on the night of the defeat. Their star midfielder Frenkie de Jong returned to the field after a long 155 days.
