The 'HSC Results on October 29' Notice Is Completely Fake, Education Boards Warn in Urgent Alert
The notice circulating on social media claiming that the HSC and equivalent examination results will be published on October 29 is completely false and misleading. The Inter-Education Board Examination Controllers' Committee has made clear that the education boards have no connection whatsoever with the claim.
The information was confirmed in an urgent press release signed by the committee's convener, Professor Jasmine Taslima Banu, on Thursday (October 22). The warning came after the fake notice spread confusion among the hundreds of thousands of students and parents awaiting the results.
The release said the information being circulated online about results being published on October 29 is fabricated. The authorities requested everyone to refrain from spreading such rumours on social media and from sharing misleading information.
Professor Jasmine Taslima Banu said it is best not to believe unauthorised information on social media without verification.
She made clear that all decisions, schedules and guidance regarding examinations and results will be published in due course only on the official websites and verified Facebook pages of the Ministry of Education, the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and the respective education boards.
In other words, when the real results date is announced, it will be known only through these official channels. There is no basis for treating a viral photo or post on Facebook as an announcement.
Fake notices of this kind circulate almost every results season, creating needless anxiety and confusion among students and parents, and this year has been no exception.
The authorities' advice to students and parents is to verify any information against official sources before sharing it, since spreading rumours only deepens the confusion for others.
The actual date for publishing the results has not yet been announced. When it is, it will appear on the official websites and verified Facebook pages of the ministry and the boards.
So the instruction from the Inter-Education Board Examination Controllers' Committee is simple: ignore the fake October 29 date and watch for the official announcement instead.
