Rampura Madrasa Honours Girl Students Who Completed Memorizing the Quran
A group of girl students who completed memorizing the Holy Quran have been given a special reception in the capital's Rampura area. The students of Al Jannah Women's Madrasa were presented with honour crests along with burqas, hijabs and various gifts, in recognition of completing the memorization through long perseverance.
The reception was held on Thursday (October 22) at the Al Jannah auditorium in the capital in a festive ceremony. The hall was filled with a celebratory atmosphere in the presence of students, guardians and teachers.
The event was presided over by Mawlana Masudul Qadir. Mawlana Muhammad Zainul Abidin, Shaykhul Hadith of Jamia Qasem Nanutavi Dhaka, spoke as the chief guest.
In his speech, Zainul Abidin said a daughter is a special blessing from Allah. Guardians who raise their daughters with proper care are extremely fortunate, he remarked.
He added that parents whose children have become hafiza hold a highly honoured position before Allah, and expressed hope that Allah would honour them in both this world and the hereafter.
The chief guest cautioned, however, that it is not enough to simply make the girls hafiza. In his words, they must also be taught the translation and interpretation of the Quran, so that they can understand the meaning of the verses they have memorized and apply them in life.
As a special guest, Zahir Uddin Babar, chief news editor of the online news portal Dhaka Mail, said everyone must strive wholeheartedly so that children grow up to become enlightened and ideal human beings in the days ahead.
Mawlana Joynal Abedin, principal of Baitul Quran Was Sunnah Madrasa, said how important the role of an ideal mother is in building a beautiful society becomes clear just by looking at the surroundings. Today's students are tomorrow's mothers, so their education matters for the whole society.
Hosted by Mawlana Tawhidul Islam, the event also heard speeches from Mawlana Abdus Salam, Mawlana Amin Ashraf and other guests. The speakers stressed continuity in hifz education and encouraged girls to come forward in religious learning.
At the ceremony, the honoured students received crests and gifts one by one. Receiving recognition for their long hard work created an atmosphere of joy and emotion among the students and their families.
The organisers said the reception was arranged to encourage female students in Quranic education. They expressed hope that the practice of honouring students who complete hifz in this way would continue in the future.
