Notice Claiming HSC Results on October 29 Is Fake, Inter-Education Board Says

Staff Reporter

A notice circulating on social media claiming that HSC examination results will be published at 10am on October 29 is completely false and motivated, the Inter-Education Board Examination Controllers' Committee has said.

The information was given in an urgent public notice signed on Thursday (October 22) by the committee's convener, Professor Jesmin Taslima Banu, controller of examinations of the Dhaka Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education.

The notice said the education boards have no connection whatsoever with the misleading notice being circulated on social media stating a date and time for the publication of the 2026 HSC examination results.

In other words, the news circulating online that results will be published on October 29 is not a board decision. The real date for publishing the results has not been announced in this notice either.

The committee made clear that all decisions, notices and instructions concerning examinations and results are published by the Ministry of Education, the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and the respective education boards on their official websites and verified Facebook pages.

People have been advised not to treat a date spread by any other page, group or personal account as official. If in doubt, they have been asked to verify it directly on their own board's website.

The committee requested examinees, guardians, teachers, heads of educational institutions, officers-in-charge of centres and the general public not to believe or share any information circulating on social media without verification.

At the same time, it called on everyone to refrain from spreading rumours and misleading information, warning that sharing a fake notice can spread confusion among many more examinees and guardians.

Fake dates like this are usually spread by exploiting the waiting and anxiety of examinees and guardians over HSC results. Hundreds of thousands of students worry about university admission and future plans even before the result date is announced.

That is why the most important advice now is not to spread a date as soon as it is seen, but to first check it against the board's official website or verified page. The date and time of publication will be known with certainty only when the official announcement comes.

After this urgent public notice from the Inter-Education Board, the message to examinees is one: the October 29 notice is fake — do not believe it or share it. Wait for the board's official announcement for the real result date.
