Foreign weapon and two airguns recovered from a rubber garden in Sylhet

A foreign weapon and two airguns have been recovered from a rubber garden in Sylhet. The recovery was made by the SRB, according to reports.

The recovery of such weapons from inside a rubber garden has caused a stir in the area. Questions have also been raised over whether a secluded place like the garden was deliberately chosen to hide the weapons.

The recovered items include one foreign-made weapon. Two airguns were also found alongside it, according to the sources concerned.

Members of the SRB carried out the operation and seized the weapons. However, detailed information — such as the exact time of the operation, the precise location of the garden, or whether anyone was detained in connection with the incident — was not immediately available.

Rubber gardens in the Sylhet region are generally located in secluded areas, somewhat away from settlements. As a result, the stockpiling of weapons in such places becomes a matter of concern for law enforcement agencies.

Attention is now on the investigation to find out how the foreign weapon reached this garden and whether any gang is involved behind it. More information may emerge after the recovered weapons are examined.

Local residents say regular operations of this kind in the area would reduce the movement of illegal weapons. Demands have also been raised to increase surveillance in garden areas.

Further details will be known once the next legal steps and the progress of the investigation in this incident become clear. For now, the recovered weapons are believed to be in the custody of the force concerned.
