Paharika Express leaves Sylhet three hours late amid protests; six arrested as Barlekha theft mystery is solved
The Paharika Express train left Sylhet three hours late on Wednesday after facing protests. Because the train departed long after its scheduled time, passengers had to wait for a long while.
The protests disrupted the train's movement. Despite the three-hour delay, the Paharika Express eventually left Sylhet for its destination.
Meanwhile, in Barlekha of Moulvibazar district, law enforcers have solved the mystery behind a theft case. Six people have been arrested on allegations of involvement in the incident.
Legal proceedings against the arrested persons are under way, according to sources concerned. The solving of the theft mystery has brought relief to the area.
In Shalla of Sunamganj, this year's Durga festival ended with the immersion of idols. The rituals of the Sharodiya Durga Puja were completed there with the immersion.
Around the immersion, devotees and visitors in Shalla bid farewell to Goddess Durga in a festive atmosphere, bringing the days-long festival to a close.
All in all, Wednesday was an eventful day across Sylhet Division — a protest disrupting the train schedule on one side, a crime mystery solved in Barlekha, and a festival concluding in Shalla on the other.
