ABG University Cup captains' meet on October 22 with fixture draw and trophy unveiling
The captains' meet of the ABG University Cup 2026 will be held on October 22. ABG Sports City, of the Anvir Bashundhara Group, has invited media representatives to the event, which will take place at the Julkan Indoor Arena of ABG Sports City in the Bashundhara Residential Area of the capital.
Captains of the participating teams and university representatives will attend the pre-tournament captains' meet, bringing every side together under one roof for the first time before the competition begins.
The event will discuss the tournament's organization and competition rules. Alongside that will come the fixture draw, the unveiling and distribution of the official jerseys, and the trophy unveiling — meaning the tournament's full outline will become clear in a single evening.
According to the organizers' published schedule, the program begins at 5 p.m. on October 22 with the host's introduction. It will be followed by recitation from the Holy Quran, a campus activation video screening, a welcome speech and a screening of the tournament's promotional video.
The fixture draw to set the match schedule will run from 6:15 p.m. to 7 p.m. Which team faces whom will be decided by this draw, making it the most anticipated segment of the evening for the participating sides.
The official jersey unveiling follows at 7 p.m., the match schedule announcement at 7:45 p.m. and the trophy unveiling at 8:15 p.m. The event will conclude with dinner and an exchange of views from 8:45 p.m. to 9:45 p.m.
One point does leave room for confusion. The invitation letter gives the event time as 4 p.m., while the attached schedule puts the start at 5 p.m. Media representatives have therefore been asked to confirm the correct time with the organizers before attending.
