Boots Before the World Cup: Sports State Minister Orders U-15 Footballers' Request to Be Met
Youth and Sports State Minister Aminul Haque has ordered immediate steps to meet the demand for high-quality boots from the 14 footballers of the Bangladesh team heading to Azerbaijan for the FIFA Under-15 World Cup and Festival. The players had sought the boots as part of their preparation to perform well on the World Cup stage.
The 'FIFA Under-15 World Cup and Festival 2026' will be held in Azerbaijan from 24 to 30 October. Bangladesh's Under-15 national football team will take part in the tournament, and preparations are under way with that goal in mind.
On Monday (19 October), a press conference was arranged at the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) to detail the team's preparations. State Minister Aminul Haque paid a courtesy call on the young World Cup-bound footballers on the occasion.
During the meeting, he encouraged the players and also gave them necessary guidance for performing well on the international stage. He reminded them to treat this opportunity to represent the country with seriousness.
Addressing the players, the state minister said that in football, chances are often created at the last moment but cannot always be converted. He urged the young footballers to overcome that limitation, stressing the need to make use of every opportunity to achieve the desired success.
He also noted that success at the international level is possible if they take the field with love for the country, a sense of responsibility and firm commitment.
Pointing to the participation of 191 countries in the competition, he reminded the young footballers that the whole country will be watching their performance. With so many countries taking part, the tournament is set to be a major stage of experience for the youngsters.
After the speech, the team captain raised the need for high-quality football boots with the state minister. Although the BFF has supplied boots, the players have asked for even better ones in pursuit of their best performance in international competition.
Aminul Haque responded immediately to the request to buy high-quality boots sized to the feet of the team's 14 players. Directing the officials concerned to take the necessary steps, he asked them to select the boots according to the players' preferences and report the total cost, so the purchase can be completed quickly.
He also urged regular and intensive practice with the aim of achieving good results, stressing that no gap should be left in the preparations.
He further assured the young footballers that a bigger gift from the government awaits them if they can perform well in the tournament.
The team now has a single goal — to give their best at the event starting in Azerbaijan on 24 October. With the assurance that their boot demand will be met, the young footballers will focus on that preparation.
