Kevin Bacon's Clothes Parcel Sent to Israel Instead of Ireland, Actor Pleads for Help
Hollywood actor Kevin Bacon has publicly pleaded for help — a parcel full of his clothes has travelled around the world but still has not reached its destination. The 68-year-old actor asked his followers to help him figure out where his lost clothes were hiding.
Bacon is currently working in Ireland. He said that, wanting to pack light, he decided to ship some old clothes over to Ireland. In his words, he does not buy a lot of clothes, and he has probably had these clothes since the '90s.
He used a shipping service to send the clothes. Jokingly, he said he did not want to say the company's name, but that it rhymes with 'BreadX' — a clear hint at FedEx. The box of clothing was shipped on September 26 from upstate New York to his filming location.
Then began the parcel's strange journey. The box went straight to Memphis, from Memphis to France, and by September 28 it had arrived in Germany. On September 29, it was shipped straight to Israel — not Ireland, Israel.
That was not the end. On October 3 the parcel travelled from Israel back to France, only to be sent back to Israel the following day. It travelled to Germany on October 5 before being routed back to Israel on October 6.
On October 10 the box reached France, and on October 11 it arrived in the UK, in England. That same day it left the UK and came straight to Ireland — but even after reaching the destination country, the trouble was not over. According to the actor, the parcel has been sitting there for five days, and he is being told it cannot be delivered.
Bacon said he does not understand why. 'It's just sitting there,' he said. He has not been able to talk to anybody on the phone either.
Many people might think he should just buy new clothes — and Bacon himself raised that point. His answer is that he could buy clothes, but he wants these clothes, because clothes he has kept since the '90s carry a certain sentimental value for him.
In the words of the 'Tremors' star, the package contained old boots, old jeans and old hats, as he wondered whether he was ever going to see this stuff again.
FedEx representatives did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment. The company has separately apologised for the incident, said it was in direct contact with Bacon's team to deliver the package, and said it was reviewing what went wrong.
Bacon, who has been married to Kyra Sedgwick for nearly 40 years and has two children, Travis and Sosie, has made his public appeal while working in Ireland a talking point on social media. Whether the clothes from the '90s finally reach his hands remains to be seen.
